Abstract

This article is intended to address the role of current visual counter-representations of indigenous women in Latin America based on the actions emerging from female artists connected to the Identidad Marrón (Brown Identity) collective activism born in Argentina against structural racism. The search of an own version appears towards the construction of an authentic, experiential, and updated cultural memory, based on the representation of the diverse bias as well as the search for visibility supported by social networks as circulation platforms.
